Donna A. Svetz

  Donna A. Svetz, 82, of Streator passed away Friday, January 21, 2022 at O.S.F. St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

  Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. 

  Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Wednesday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

  The family asks that face covering be worn for the funeral services and visitation.

  Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.  Private family burial will be at a later date in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator.

  Born October 7, 1939 in Streator she was the daughter of Ernest and Katie (Carter) Rogers.  She married Ronald Svetz on October 1, 1960 at St. Stephen’s Church, Streator.

  She is survived by her husband Ronald Svetz of Streator; daughters, Angela (Tim) Walczynski of Lowell and Kathleen Svetz of Streator; a son, Timothy Svetz of San Diego, California; grandchildren, Matthew Greider of Streator, Adam Greider of Beufort, South Carolina, Chelsey (Matthew) Cowan of Wenona and Kaylee (Dylan) Hovious of Streator; a great granddaughter, Nova Cowan; a former son in law who still remains close with the family, Richard Greider of Streator; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Lois Rife; and brothers, Arnold and Ernest Rogers.

  Born and raised in Streator she attended local grade schools and graduated from Streator High School in the class of 1957.

  She worked through the years for S & S Grocery, Spurgeon’s, Sears and Sandy’s Ice Cream.  She was also a homemaker through the years.

  She was a member of the former St. Stephen’s Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church.

  Memorials may be directed St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Special Olympics of Illinois.
