Dorothy J. Cook

  Dorothy J. Cook, 44, of Cornell passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2023.

  Private family services will be held.  Cremation rights will be accorded. 

  The Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

  Born November 27, 1978 in Wurzburg, Germany she was the daughter of Roger Cook and Carol (Erschen) Gurgone.

  She is survived by a daughter, McKenna (Nick) Olson of Flanagan; a son, Nolan Deats of Cornell; a grandchild on the way; her mother, Carol Gurgone of Cornell; her father, Roger Cook of Fairfield; a sister, Sammi Jo (Joey) Ruffolo of Hampshire; brothers, Roger Cook Jr., of Cornell and Matthew Gurgone of Flanagan; nephews, Vincenzo Ruffolo and Charlie Cook; a niece, June Cook; aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.

  She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.

  She was raised in the Streator area and graduated from Woodland High School in the class of 1996.

  She formerly worked for Dwight Correctional Center and was currently working for Pontiac Correctional Center.

  Dorothy was a loving mother and enjoyed crafting.  She will be dearly missed by her loving family.
