Douglas J. Spraggon, 62, of Streator passed away Thursday, July 4, 2024 at O.S.F. St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

   A celebration of life will be held at the Streator Eagles Club, Thursday, July 18th from 4-7. Cremation rites will be accorded.  The Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

   Born January 4, 1962 in Streator he was the son of Jack and Betty (Sullivan) Spraggon. 

  He is survived by a son, Zachariah Spraggon of Pensacola, Florida; a sister, Laura Beth Spraggon of Streator; a brother, Jeff (Michelle) Spraggon of Tomahawk, Wisconsin; aunts, Laura Sue (Robert) Danko of Streator and Peggy DeVita of Villa Park; an uncle, who was just like a brother to him, Jim (Kim) Spraggon of Streator; a niece Caitlin Spraggon (Tim) of Milwaukee, WI; a nephew Jeffery Spraggon (Melissa) of Pewaukee, WI; a great nephew and as Doug would call him his “little wing man” Jordan Bryden of Milwaukee, WI; and many cousins.

  He was preceded in death by his parents, his maternal and paternal grandparents, an uncle, Thomas Spraggon and an aunt, Karen Spraggon.

  He enjoyed fishing and hunting through the years.  He was a skilled carpenter and mechanic and could do just about anything with his hands. He would always help his fellow man if he could.
