Elizabeth C. Hansen

Elizabeth C. “Betty” Hansen, 93, of Streator passed away Monday, August 6, 2018 at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care, Streator.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 A.M. Friday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Msgr. Philip Halfacre will officiate.

Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Friday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery, Streator.

Born July 12, 1925 in Leonardtown, Maryland she was the daughter of Charles and Olivia (Dent) Camalier. She married Robert W. Hansen on August 14, 1946. He preceded her in death on July 17, 1976.

She is survived by daughters, Elizabeth (Patrick) Davis of Overland Park, Kansas and Susan (Louis) Majercin of Centralia; sons, Robert (Betty Jo) Hansen of Peru, Mark (Ellie) Hansen of Oswego and Michael (Jan) Hansen of Streator; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and one due in November; sisters, Ann Wathen of Leonardtown, Maryland and Mary Ellen Ashkenas of California.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters, Charlotte Welch and Ruth Mattingly; a brother, Benjamin Camalier; and a son, Robert Jeffrey in infancy.

Born and raised in Maryland she located to the Streator area in the late 1940’s along with her husband.

She worked as a nurse for St. Mary’s Hospital and then retired from the Streator Medical Clinic.

Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or the charity of the donor’s choice.
