Elizabeth A. Simpkins

  Elizabeth A. Simpkins, 67, of Ransom passed away Thursday, June 15, 2023 at O.S.F. Center for Health-Streator.

  Funeral services will be at 12:00 P.M. Monday, June 19th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. 

  Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.

  Burial will be in Allen Township Cemetery, Ransom.  Pallbearers will be, Derek Wachowski, Jake Hepner, B.J. Thompson, Jake Sibert, Cody Sibert and Mike Cates.

  Born November 23, 1955 in Ottawa she was the daughter of Virgil and Ella Mae (Farrell) Sibert.  She married Mark Simpkins on December 2, 1983. He preceded her in death on September 1, 2009.

  She is survived by sons, Chad (Nora) Sibert of Streator and Richard “Richie” Sibert of Ottawa; grandchildren, Clayton, Ella and Miley Sibert; sisters, Kathy (Dale) Jenkins of Ransom and Cherie (Jim) Hintze of Mazon; brothers, Virgil Sibert of Ransom, David (Amy) Sibert of Ransom and Jeff Sibert.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and a sister in law, Lorna Sibert.

  She attended Streator High School and later earned her C.N.A. certificate.

  She worked through the years as a waitress in various restaurants, as a C.N.A. and at Streator Drugs.

  Mongie as she was affectionately called by her grandchildren and nieces and nephews was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who always put family first.  She will be greatly missed by her loving family.  She enjoyed crafting and especially loved Halloween.   

  Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
