Eva June Lowe,age 88 of Streator passed away Sunday April 27th,2025 at home surrounded by those that loved her most.
Eva was born June 1st ,1936 to Irven and Mary Hurt in Fairfield Il.She attended Merriam Grade School and Fairfield High School.Following graduation she moved to Streator to work at Owens Illinois Glass in Streator, where she met and married Dale Lowe and together they had three children.
She is survived by those children, a daughter, Holly (Jim) Bressner of Streator, a son, Kerry(Tony) Lowe of Salt Lake City, Utah and a son, Brian(Kathy)Lowe of Rochelle,Il.
She has 11 grandchildren- Curt Bressner,Benjamin Bodznick,Angie Patterson,Natalie Durdan,Hannah Bressner, Stevie Barlow,Adrienne Altipeter, Lindsey Voegler, Kyle Lowe,Cody Dale and Caleb Dale.
And 17 great grandchildren- Lyndi and Savanna Bressner,Elle and Quinlyn “Eva” Bodznick,Amelia and Tori Patterson, Lydia and Jacqueline Durdan, Nakissa Barlow,Austin Greifenkamp, Gavin Altipeter,Aaliyah,Jordan and Kolten Lowe,Ryder Jacobs,Jack Voegler and Dixie Jean Dale.
Also surviving are sisters Barbara Lowe,Streator, Marilyn Vogus,Yorkville, Linda Payton,Rochelle and Karen Haiman ,Rochelle. As well as many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Mary and Irven Hurt,Dale Lowe,former spouse,brother,Donald Hurt and sister in law, Bettye Hurt, brother,Kenneth Hurt and sister in law Henrietta “Babe”Hurt,sister,Louetta Jean Hurt in childhood and brother,William Myron Hurt in infancy and brother in law, Kenneth Lowe.
Eva loved spending time with her sisters,they were her best and dearest friends.They liked going to Goodwill,Thrift or Antique shops looking for “treasures” but mostly they just liked being together,laughing and keeping alive old family memories. She loved reading true mysteries and local history/folklore.She loved roses, lilacs,hummingbirds and monarch butterflies.
Graveside services will be held for the immediate family in Fairfield,Il at Union Cemetery later in the summer and a monarch butterfly release will be held in celebration of her wonderful life.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, Benjamin Bodznick and Kyle Lowe and great grandsons, Austin Greifenkamp,Gavin Altipeter,Ryder Jacobs,Jack Voegler, Jordan and Kolten Lowe.
Memorials may be given to the family and will be directed to “Streator Monarch Mission” in memory of Eva.
