Evelyn Mudrock Obituary

  Evelyn A. Mudrock, 96, of Streator passed away Thursday, January 25, 2024 at the ARC of Streator.

  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 2nd at St. Michael the Archangel Parish Church, Streator.

  Visitation will be from 4:30 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Thursday, February 1st at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.  The rosary will be recited at 6:45 P.M.  Additional visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. Friday, February 2nd at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

  Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery.

  Born October 12, 1927 in Streator she was the daughter of John and Anna (Janovich) Kmetz.  She married Robert J. Mudrock on May 5, 1951.  He preceded her in death on May 18, 2008.

  She is survived by a daughter, Darlene (Steve) Ewing of Streator; sons, John Mudrock of Haines City, Florida, James (Jennifer) Mudrock of New Lenox and Mark (Susan) Mudrock of Sarasota, Florida; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Rebecca) Mudrock of Mobile, Alabama, Jason Mudrock of Chicago, Jana Mudrock of Dallas, Texas, Jacob (Kelsey) Ewing of Sycamore, Christie (Liam) Larkin of Shawnee, Kansas and Maverick Mudrock of Sarasota, Florida; great grandchildren, Evelyn and Malachi Mudrock; Camden and Piper Ewing; and Aidan and Annie Larkin; a brother, Robert (Susan) Kmetz of Streator; sisters in law, Linda Kmetz of Streator and Phyllis Kmetz of Downers Grove; many nieces and nephews also survive.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert; sisters, Lucille McLaughlin, Joan Brennan, Genevieve Hancin and Helen Kmetz; and brothers, John, Jerry and Chester Kmetz.

  She attended local grade schools and Streator High School.

  She worked through the years for Lipton Tea Company until her marriage.

  She was a member of the former St. Stephen’s Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Parish.  She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of her church, the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and the Streator Eagles Club.  She was also active with St. Stephen’s School serving on the Parents Club and as a room mother.

  She enjoyed making crafts, playing bingo and playing cards. Evelyn and Robert also enjoyed traveling in their motor home and wintering in Central Florida for many years.

  Evelyn was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  Her life was centered on her faith and her family.  Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to her. She will be dearly missed by her loving family, friends and all who knew her.

  The family of Evelyn wishes to thank the staff of Arc of Streator for their care and many kindnesses extended to Evelyn during her stay as well as the staff of Hospice.

  Memorials may be made to St. Michael’s School, Catholic Charities, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or a charity of the donor’s choice.
