Florence Shull, 98, of Streator passed away Monday, July 22, 2024 at Manor Court in Peru.

  The rosary will be recited at 8:45 a.m. and visitation will follow from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 30th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. 

  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, July 30th at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. 

  Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator.  Pallbearers will be, Bob Shull, Gary Shull, Ryan Shull, Bill Olson, Matt Olson and Greg Washko.  Honorary pallbearer will be Ray Ward.

  Born March 31, 1926, in Streator, she was the daughter of Michael and Mary (Staver) Handzo.  She married Ray F. Shull on February 17, 1947.  He preceded her in death.

  She is survived by daughter Alicia Bayer; sons, Bob and Gary; and 13 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant son Raymond Irl; daughters Judy Regan, Jane Bunday; a son, Gene; sisters, Anna Washko, Mary Pouk, Catherine Elias, Margie Gehrke and Irene Hall; brothers, George, Michael and John Handzo; also a brother in infancy, Andrew Handzo.

  Florence was born and raised in Streator and attended St. Stephen’s Grade School.  She also was the PTA president in the late 60’s at that school.  She was a 1945 graduate of Streator High School.

  Florence was a lifetime member of the former St. Stephen’s Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church.  She worked at the First Federal Credit Union for several years. 

  Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
