Frances I. Hutchison

Frances I. Hutchison, 97, of Streator passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at her home where she was born and had lived her entire lifetime.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 A.M. Monday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Msgr. Philip Halfacre will officiate.

Visitation will be from 2-5 P.M. Sunday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. The rosary will be recited at 4:45 P.M.

Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be John Grady Jr., Matthew Caruso, David Capitan, Bill Mathis, Kenneth Hauger and Joseph Petric.

Born February 17, 1922 in Streator she was the daughter of Andrew and Mary (Hlad) Rozak. She married Clifford L. Hutchison on August 14, 1944 at St. Stephen’s Church. He preceded her in death on April 8, 2002.

She is survived by daughters, Anne Hutchison of Streator, Jane Hutchison of Streator and Susan (James) Dawson of Lansing; grandchildren, Kristin (John) Grady of Cedar Lake, Indiana, Katherine (David Capitan) Dawson of Stickney and Amanda (Matthew) Caruso of Frankfort; and great grandchildren, Brooklyn and John Grady III; Sydney and Nora Caruso; and Nolan Capitan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters, Anne Rozak, Victoria Hutmacher and Margaret Burns; and a brother, Louis Rozak.

Born and raised in Streator she graduated from Plumb Grade School and Streator High School in the class of 1938. She was always very proud of the fact that she graduated when she was just 16 years old.

She worked through the years for GC Murphy and later for Streator National Bank.

She was a life-time member of the former St. Stephen’s Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator.

Frances was an avid reader and enjoyed reading the local newspaper and well as the Chicago Tribune each day. She also loved gardening and cooking. She was a woman of great faith who always cherished her family. She will be deeply missed by her many friends and family.
