Obituary
Ginnie L. Sroka, 63, of Streator passed away Friday, June 2, 2023 at the OSF Richard L Owens Hospice Home, Peoria with her loving husband by her side.
Mrs. Sroka was born October 8, 1959 in Tucson, Arizona, the daughter of Patrick and Jane (Snook) Turner. She married Robert Sroka, January 23, 1993 in Ottawa, he survives.
Ginnie shared her love and compassion for the community as Case Manager at Safe Journeys in Streator for 34 yrs from 1985-2019. She spent her youth in Morris, attending Morris grade and high schools. She made a lot of memories with her camping and embracing the outdoors with her husband as a member Marshal County Sportsman Club. She brightened the lives of her family and home. She had a passion for painting, drawing, gardening, and cooking. She was of Presbyterian faith and expressed her strong values and morals amongst her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband; her mother, Jane Snook Baudino of Springfield; a daughter, Sarah (Nathan) Harris of Streator; sons, Eric (Christina) Watchinski of Streator, Jason (Kathleen) Watchinski of Dwight and Sean Sroka of Streator; sisters, Jamie (Graham) Cross of Cape Coral, Florida, Nichole (Matt) Magalis of Springfield; a half-sister, Dawn Miller of Austin, Texas. She was a very proud grandmother of Dylan Milby, Jacob, Matthew, Abby, Bryce and Elizabeth Watchinski; Weston and Cameron Harris and Kensley Sroka, three great grandchildren, Braxton, Carter and Asher Milby She was preceded in death by her father, step father, Joseph “Bud” Baudino and one brother, Paul Turner.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday (June 11, 2023) at Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator with Rodney Kreier, officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 PM Sunday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home. Cremation rites have been up accorded
