Gladys H. Pastirik, 88, of Streator passed away Friday, May 24, 2024 at the ARC of Streator.

  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, May 29th at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator.

  Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 29th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

  Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator.  Pallbearers will be Rico Diaz, Landen Mascote, Isaac Follmer, Devon Richardson, Drew Richardson and Zack Pastirik.

  Born June 30, 1935 in Streator she was the daughter of Barney and Alice (Walburn) Fewkes.  She married Leon C. Pastirik on September 15, 1956.  He preceded her in death on July 21, 2010.

  She is survived by daughters, Brenda (Terry) Flahaven, Deborah (Jeff Gleim) White and Lori (Jerry Carbone) Pastirik all of Streator; sons, Jeffrey Pastirik and Michael (Jessica) Pastirik both of Streator; grandchildren, Chey (Jeff) Weaver of Florida, Zack (Jessica) Pastirik of Streator, Shannon Follmer of Streator, Ashley (Rico) Diaz of Streator, Devon (Trisha Studnicki) Richardson of Blackstone, Clarissa (Eugene) Mascote of Streator, Kali (Chance) Roberts of Indiana, Drew (Alicia) Richardson of Streator, Trey Pastirik of North Carolina and Mark Truty of LaSalle; 27 great grandchildren and one on the way; and 1 great-great grandchild; a sister, Marilyn Kovach of Streator; brothers in law, Larry Danko and Don Yanek both of Streator; a sister in law, Phyllis Schoen of Michigan; many nieces and nephews also survive.  She was also survived by Lois Murray, her good friend and roommate at the nursing home and a good family friend, Duane Horton who would visit every day.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a granddaughter, Chelsea Bromley Davis; a son in law, Ronald White, Jr.; and sisters, Doris Gass, Lorraine Tonielli, Ardelle Yanek, Evelyn Danko and Ronna Fewkes.

  Born and raised in the Streator area she attended local grade schools and graduated from Streator High School. 
  She worked for St. Mary’s Hospital for 32 years in the Emergency Room until her retirement.

  Gladys enjoyed cooking, baking, black and white westerns on TV and spending time with her family.  She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed when the whole family would spend time at her house visiting.  She will be dearly missed by her loving family.

  The family would like to thank the ARC of Streator and the wonderful staff for the care they gave Gladys the last few years.  It will never be forgotten.
