Glenn A. Michael

  Glenn A. Michael, 73, of Streator passed away Monday, December 12, 2022 at his residence in Streator.

  Cremation rites will be accorded.  Private family burial will be in Odell Cemetery at a later date.  The Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator is in charge of the arrangements.

  Born March 26, 1949 in Girard, Kansas he was the son of Glenn and Matilda (McGill) Michael.  He married Sandra Harlan on March 29, 1965 in Streator.  She preceded him in death on November 26, 2021.

  He is survived by daughters, Tina Michael of Streator and Cathy Michael of Streator; a son, Anthony “Tony” (Carrie) Michael of Streator; grandchildren, Andrew Michael, Izayah Michael, Elyjah Michael, Troy (Amanda) Michael, John Freeman, Antonio “A.J.” Melton Jr. and Lily Michael; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kinsley, Hailey and Carson Freeman; a sister, Jerry Lynn (Bob) West of Streator; brothers, Dennis Michael of Streator, Barry Michael of Streator and Patrick Michael of Cisne; a brother in law, William Geary of Streator and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; sisters, Betty Hombaker and Martha Geary; brothers, Garry, Larry and Terry Michael; and a sister in law, Janeen Michael.

  He was raised in the Cornell and Kangley areas.  He attended Cornell Grade School and graduated from Streator High School.

  He worked through the years for Owens Illinois, Thatchers Glass, Vactor Manufacturing and The Dependable.   He also owned and operated Michael’s Recycling along with his family since 1989.

  Glenn loved animals and visiting with his regular customers at the recycling center.
