Helen Y. Cimei, 90, of Magnolia passed away peacefully September 27, 2025 at her home.

  Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 3rd at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

  Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Friday, October 3rd at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

  Burial will be in Cumberland Cemetery in Magnolia.  Family members will serve as pallbearers.

  Born April 15, 1935 in Council Grove, Kansas she was the daughter of Paul and Helen (Rasmussen) Ringer.  She married Robert G. Cimei on November 23, 1953.  He preceded her in death on December 19, 2012.

  She is survived by daughters, Julia Kitchens of Wenona, Cindy Larrson of Australia, Cristal Cimei of Magnolia and Denise (Tim) Schoepke of Varna; a son, Alfred “Fred” (Jenny) Cimei of Streator; 13 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; 2 sisters also survive.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Roberta (Bobbie) Pedelty; 2 brothers and 1 sister.

  She was raised in Ottawa and attended Ottawa Grade Schools and Ottawa High School.  She has lived in Magnolia since 1953.

  She worked for Monte Casino Nursing Home in Toluca for 30 years as a housekeeper. 

  Helen enjoyed vacationing in Cozumel, Mexico along with her husband in their retirement.  She also loved crocheting, reading James Patterson novels, thrifting and collecting porcelain dolls and shoes.  She loved nature and sitting on her front porch watching the birds and other wildlife. Helen’s family and especially her grandchildren were the most important to her.  She loved them all very much.  She will be dearly missed by her loving family.
