Hubert G. Tucker, 79, of Streator passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025 at The ARC at Normal, Illinois.

  Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 18th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

  Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 18th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

  Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Streator.  Cremation rites have been accorded.

  Born March 21, 1945 in Streator he was the son of Hubert and Phyllis (Benger) Tucker.  He married Lisa Silberberg on January 8, 1966.  She preceded him in death on October 2, 2017.

  He is survived by daughters, Monica (Scott) Virzi of Bloomington and Annette (Rick) Delyea of Darlington, South Carolina; a granddaughter, Morgan Davis of Bloomington; and a special friend, Donna Rodrick of Streator.

  He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

  Born and raised in Streator he attended St. Mary’s Grade School and graduated from Streator High School.  He later attended Northern Illinois University, Southern Illinois University and DeVry Institute.

  He worked through the years for Montgomery Ward and Sears as a Service Tech and at Herb’s Appliance.  He later worked as the Fuel Manager at Kroger’s until his retirement.

  He was formerly a member of Immaculate Conception Church.  He also was a member of the Streator Eagles Club, Streator Moose Lodge and the Boot Kickers Dancing Club along with his wife. 

  Hubert enjoyed traveling with his wife Lisa through the years.  He also enjoyed taking care of his pool and was an avid model train collector.

  Memorials may be directed to the American Red Cross.
