James D. Pouk, 88, of Streator passed away Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Manor Court in Peru where he has resided for the last several years.

  Funeral services will he at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 21st at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

  Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Tuesday, October 21st at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

  Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator.

  Born October 19, 1936 in Streator he was the son of Andrew and Mary (Handzo) Pouk.  He was formerly married to Judy Casey.

  He is survived by his daughter, Traci Pouk of Streator and his former wife, Judy Cave.

  He was preceded in death by parents; and aunts and uncles, Anna Washko, Catherine Elias, Margie Gehrke, Irene Hall, Florence Shull, George, Michael, John and Andrew Handzo.

  Born and raised in Streator he attended St. Stephens Grade School and graduated from Streator High School.  He later attended Business College.

  He worked through the years for Jero Black as a Purchasing Agent, United Pipe and Supply and later Commonwealth Edison from where he retired.  Jim was well known for his catering and along with his family and good friends catered numerous weddings and events for over 30 years with his business Party’s by James.

  He was a member of the former St. Stephen’s Church.

  Memorials may be directed to the Streatorland Historical Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
