Janet L. Williams, 70, of Streator passed away Thursday, January 23, 2020 at O.S.F. St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 A.M. Wednesday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Rev. Fr. Ryan Mattingly will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. Tuesday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. The rosary will be recited at 6:45 P.M.

Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be friends and family.

Born October 31, 1949 in Streator she was the daughter of Andrew and Frances (Tooley) Humenik. She married Terry Williams on June 14, 1969 at St. Stephen’s Church, Streator.

She is survived by her husband Terry Williams of Streator; sons, Scott (Karen) Williams of Streator and Ryan (Sarah) Williams of Houghton, Michigan; grandchildren, Jacob, Taytum, Natalie, Hannah, Andrew, Amelia and Mary Williams; a brother, James (Mary Jane) Humenik of LaGrangeville, New York; a niece, Lauren Humenik of Ballston Spa, New York; and her caregiver, Cindy Fogarty.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Born and raised in Streator she attended St. Stephen’s Grade School and graduated from Streator High School. She later attended Northern Illinois University, Augustana and Bradley University from where she graduated.

She worked as a grade school teacher through the years for St. Anthony Grade School, Sunbury Grade School and Dwight Grade School from where she retired.

She was a member of the former St. Anthony Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church.

Janet was a loving wife and mother who doted over her grandchildren every chance she would get. She will be sadly missed by her loving family.
