Janice J. Von Ruden

  Janice J. Von Ruden, 85, of Streator passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Pavilion of Ottawa in Ottawa, Illinois.

  Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 14th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.  Rev. Rodney Kreier will officiate.

  Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 14th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. 

  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Streator.  Cremation rites have been accorded.

  The Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

  Born July 3, 1938 in Streator she was the daughter of Raymond Daniels and Anne Mallady.  She married Duane A. Von Ruden on May 1, 1976 at the First United Methodist Church, Streator.  He preceded her in death on June 9, 2022.

  She is survived by a nephew, Brian (Deborah) Martin of Streator, a great nephew, Scott (Carrie) Casey of Streator; great-great niece, Shantel (Christopher) MaGee of Streator and a great-great nephew, Ryan (Tiffany) Casey of Streator. 

  She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her sister, Dorothy Martin.

  Janice was raised in Streator and attended Streator Grade Schools.  She graduated from Streator High School in the class of 1956. 

  Over the years she worked for Streator National Bank, Mediacom, Streator Medical Clinic and retired from Jack Higgins Construction.  She was primarily a bookkeeper/office worker through the years.

  Janice was a member of First United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends.  She will be dearly missed.

  Memorials may be directed to charity of the donor’s choice.
