Jean I. Rankin, 94, of Streator passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024 at the ARC of Streator.

  Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, August 24th at the Central Church of Christ, Streator.

  Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. Saturday, August 24th at the Central Church of Christ, Streator.

  Burial will be in Antioch Christian Cemetery in rural Toluca. 

  The Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

  Born April 11, 1930 in Marshall County she was the daughter of Mark and Irene (Nellinger) McClure.  She married Richard L. Rankin on August 6, 1955 in Toluca.  He preceded her in death on April 10, 2019.

  She is survived by daughters, Susan (Randy) Sauer of Texas and Janice (Gary) Leverton of Pontiac; sons, James (Lisa) Rankin of Las Vegas, Nevada and Jerry (Amy) Rankin of Washington; grandchildren, Tom (Alicia) Sauer, Amanda Zeier, Ashley (Justin) Gawlik, Tyler Rankin, Adam (Heather) Rankin, Taylor Rankin and John Leverton; and great grandchildren, Peyton, Olivia, Emma, Morgan, Roman, Madilyn, Vincent, Cambri and Eden.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Thomas Rankin; brothers, Ernest, John and George McClure; and sisters, Carol Volker and Doris Duford.

  Born and raised in Wenona she graduated from Wenona High School in the class of 1949.  She moved to the Streator area in 1956.

  Jean was a homemaker through the years.  She was a long time member of Central Church of Christ.  She also belonged to the Moose Lodge and was a member of Anderson Fields Golf Course along with her husband Dick.

  Memorials may be directed to Central Church of Christ or the Streatorland Food Pantry.
