Jeanie Muntz, 79, of Ransom passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at her residence.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. Fr. Bowan Schmitt will officiate.
Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Ransom. Pallbearers will be Daniel Koval, Jenna Koval, Nicole Black, Cody Black, Callie Simpson, Seth Wheeler, Toby Wheeler and Cole Wheeler.
Born October 29, 1942 in Streator, she was the daughter of Floyd and Viola (Brinkman) Stadel. She married Karl J. “Butch” Muntz on April 8, 1961 at St. Patrick’s Church, Ransom. He preceded her in death on October 18, 2010.
She is survived by daughters, Marla (Bobby) Black of Streator and Cathy (Ted) Koval of Streator; a son, Tim Muntz of Ransom; grandchildren, Nicole Black of Channahon, Cody Black of Streator, Shane Muntz of Denver, Colorado, Jenna Koval of Streator and Daniel Koval of Streator; a sister, Donna Kepplinger of Gardner; several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and sisters, Sharon Walkling and Betty Brownsey.
Jean lived her lifetime in the Ransom area. She worked through the years for Owens Illinois Glass Company before retiring to raise her children.
She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church and the choir of the church. In recent years she enjoyed going to dinner with her friends in Ransom on Thursday nights.
