Jeffery K. Barton

Jeffery K. Barton, 59, of Streator passed away Friday, August 16, 2019 at O.S.F. Center for Health – Streator.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. Msgr. Philip Halfacre will officiate.

Visitation will be from 9-11:30 A.M. Tuesday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be his son, Eric Barton; brothers in law, Mike Finnegan, Jerry Walker, Tom Solon, Dave Bandura, Bob DeWig, Tim McCoy; and a cousin, Mike Barton.

Born August 30, 1959 in Streator he was the son of Carl and Mary Lou (Schmidt) Barton. He married Lori Finnegan on May 2, 1980 at St. Anthony Church, Streator.

He is survived by his wife, Lori Barton of Streator; a son, Eric (Jennifer) Barton of Streator; a granddaughter, Eden Marie Barton of Streator; his mother, Mary Lou Barton of Streator; sisters, Beth (Jerry) Walker of Streator and Mary Kay (Tom) Solon of Omaha, Nebraska; several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Born and raised in Streator, he attended Streator grade schools and graduated from Streator High School in 1977. He lived in Streator his lifetime.

He spent 35 years as a Union Electrician working with IBEW Local 601.

He was a member of the former St. Anthony Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator.

In his spare time, Jeff was an outdoors-man, but his biggest passion in life was loving his family. He will be dearly missed by his loving family.

Memorials may be directed to a fund to be established for his newborn granddaughter.
