Jerome McMullen, 90, of Streator passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at his home.

  Cremation rites will be accorded.  There will be no services.  Burial of ashes will be in St. Anthony Cemetery, Streator.  The Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

  Born March 20, 1935 in Streator he was the son of Walter and Lucille (Sornberger) McMullen.  He married Janice Sroka on October 1, 1955 at St. Anthony Church, Streator.

  He is survived by his wife, Janice McMullen of Streator; sons, Jeff (Nancy) McMullen of Streator, Gene (Sandy) McMullen of Streator, Mark (Debbie) McMullen of Arlington Heights and Walter (Ann) McMullen of Davenport, Iowa; grandchildren, Adam (Jen) McMullen, Matt (Jennifer) McMullen, Derek McMullen, Ashley (Mark) Kobylinski, Megan (Brian) Stansbury, Nathan McMullen, Erin McMullen and Benjamin McMullen; 9 great grandchildren; sisters, Diane (Kimp) Lindskog of Milan, Carol (Rob) Rowland of Bowling Green, Kentucky and Judy (Ron) Feltes of Fithian; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

  He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kevin McMullen; a grandson, Garrett McMullen; a brother, Jerry Lee McMullen; a sister and brother-in-law, Marlene and Dale Kozak a niece, Sharon Rowland; and his stepmother, Dorothy Krueger.

  Born and raised in Streator he attended St. Anthony Grade School and graduated from Streator High School in the class of 1953.

  He worked for Owens Illinois Glass and later worked for GE Plastics for many years until his retirement.

  While working at Owens he participated in bowling leagues and played baseball and basketball as well.

  He was proud of the fact that he and some friends traveled to Louisiana several years ago and helped rebuild homes after a terrible hurricane.
