JoAnn Studnicki-Petri

  JoAnn Studnicki-Petri, 81, of Pontiac passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at O.S.F. St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

  Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 16th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

  Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 16th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

  Burial will be in St. Casimir’s Cemetery, Streator.  Pallbearers will be nephews, Matthew, Jason, Kurt, Brian and Keith Studnicki; and her step-son, Ritchie Petri.  Full military rites will be accorded by members of the Leslie G. Woods American Legion Post 217 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1492.

  Born July 1, 1942 in Streator she was the daughter of Joseph and Catherine (Locascio) Studnicki.  She married Julian J. Petri on November 13, 1982.  He preceded her in death.

  She is survived by a brother, Stephen (Debbie) Studnicki of Pontiac; a sister in law, Sally Studnicki of Pontiac; stepchildren, Rex (Karen) Petri, Renee (Byron) Schell, Ritchie (Doris) Petri, Rita (Steve) Farrell, Randy (Sue) Petri; a niece, Melissa Raymer; nephews, Matthew Studnicki, Jason Studnicki, Kurt Studnicki, Brian Studnicki and Keith Studnicki.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Paul Studnicki.

  Born and raised in Streator she attended St. Stephen’s Grade School and graduated from Streator High School in the class of 1960.

  She served in the United States Army for 21 years earning the rank of Seargent 1st class.  She had tours of duty in Japan and Korea.  She was an Administrative Specialist and retired from the Army in 1991.

  She worked through the years for General Telephone in Streator and later for Wal-Mart in Pontiac.  She also owned and operated J&J Bait and Pet Shop in Pontiac with her husband.

  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Graymont, the V.F.W. in Pontiac and the American Legion in Flanagan.  She also volunteered through the years for the Livingston County Humane Society and St. James Hospital.

  Memorials may be directed to the Livingston County Humane Society or the First Baptist Church of Graymont.
