Joan Marie Foltin

  Joan Marie Foltin, 84, of Streator passed away peacefully Thursday, March 24, 2022 at her home in Streator with her daughter and son-in-law by her side.

  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 A.M. Thursday, March 31, 2022 at St. Michael the Archangel Parish Church.  Father Austin Bosse will officiate.

  Visitation will be from 9:00 – 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Solon-Telford Funeral Home in Streator.  The rosary will be recited at 8:30 A.M.  Cremation rites will be accorded following the Funeral Services and burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery at a later date.

  Pallbearers will be Mike Foltin, Sean Casey, Tom Urbance, Bob Urbance, Roger Dunning, and Gary Chalkey.

  Born January 10, 1938 in Kangley, she was the daughter of Joseph and Rose (Capponi) Urbance.  She married Robert Foltin on August 13, 1960 at Annunciation of Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Eagle Township.  He preceded her in death on March 21, 2011.

  She is survived by her daughter, Beth (Francisco) Olivas of Aurora; her sister, Kathryn Chalkey of Streator and several nieces and nephews. 

  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, her son, Mark Foltin, her brother, Louis Urbance and her sister, Dorothy Guy.

  Born and raised in Kangley, Joan graduated from Streator High School in 1957.  She worked as secretary at the former Streator Brick Company, in the St. Stephen’s cafeteria and enjoyed being a homemaker.  She was a member of the former St. Stephen’s Church and currently a member of St. Michael the Archangel Parish where she belonged to the Rosary Group.  She loved planting and tending to her flowers.  She enjoyed spotting Monarch butterflies and cardinals in her yard.  Joan’s best qualities were her compassion, her faith, and love of her family.  She will be deeply missed.
