Jody L. Sohm, 59, of Streator passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at LaSalle County Nursing Home in rural Ottawa.

  Per Jody’s request his funeral services will be private.  Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Streator.  The Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

  Born July 14, 1966 in Ottawa he was the son of Errol and Cassandra (Fletcher) Sohm. 

  He is survived by his mother, Cassandra Sohm of Ottawa; his father, Errol (Carol) Sohm of Mt. Vernon; his sister, Tina Lehn of Ottawa; brother, Errol “Troy” (Michele) Sohm of Ottawa; nieces and nephews, Taylor (Megan) Fleming of Utah, Spencer (Samantha) Fleming of Oglesby, Ethan Sohm of Ottawa and Emily (Bryan Gleason) Sohm of Ottawa; and one great niece, Amelia Marie Gleason.

  He was preceded in death by his uncles, Jeff and Mike Fletcher; maternal grandparents, Buford Fletcher and Mary Fullerton; and paternal grandparents, Curly and Elsie Sohm.

  Raised in Earlville he attended Earlville grade schools and graduated from Earlville High School.

  He worked through the years for Plymouth Tube and ALM.  He later worked for Tuck’s Gaming Parlor.

  Jody loved spending time outdoors and he enjoyed kayaking, fishing, hiking and biking.  He was also an animal lover and had many dogs and cats through the years.  He leaves behind his beloved pets, Daisy his dog and Ginger his cat.  He was a 25-year kidney and pancreas transplant survivor.  He will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends.

  The family would like to give special thanks to the Arc of Streator, LaSalle County Nursing Home, O.S.F. Hospice and Rev. Bill Clark for all they did for Jody.
