John K. Corder

John K. Corder, 76, of Streator passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2019.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 8, 2019 at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Msgr. Philip Halfacre will officiate.

Visitation will be from 1-2 P.M. Friday, February 8, 2019 at the church. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.

The Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator is in charge of the arrangements.

Born May 13, 1942 in Streator, he was the son of Louie and Louise (Yuhas) Corder. He married Karen Fellows on July 23, 1977. She survives in Streator.

He is also survived by a son, Christopher (Rebecca) Corder of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren, Mary, Margaret, Robert and William Corder; a sister, Mary Ann (Neal) Emm of Streator; a brother, Randall Canale of Bolingbrook and his mother in law, Hazel Fellows of Streator.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his step father, Tom Canale and his mother and father in laws, Gordon and June Fellows.

Born and raised in Streator, he attended St. Stephen’s Grade School and graduated from Streator High School.

He was an educator for most of his professional career teaching first at Streator High School and then becoming the Principal at St. Mary’s Grade School.

He was a member of St. Stephen's Church through the years.

Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
