John E. Jaloway

  John E. Jaloway, 76, of Lake Villa passed away Monday, February 13, 2023 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, Illinois.

  Funeral services will be at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, February 18th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

  Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the services Saturday, February 18th at the funeral home.

  Burial will be in Long Point Cemetery in Long Point, Illinois.

  Born September 5, 1946 in Chicago he was the son of John J. and Sophie (Kluznik) Jaloway. 

  He married Sheila Kay Kantt on October 8, 1966 in Chicago.  She preceded him in death on November 22, 2017.

  He is survived by a daughter, Susan (David) Caton of Lake Villa; grandchildren, Sarah Caton of Lake Villa; Ali,  Rachael, Joey and Samantha Jaloway of West Chicago; a sister, Judith Wells of Gastonia, North Carolina; a sister in law, Carol Darenski of Wheatfield, Indiana; and lifelong friend, Jerry (Janice) Reardon of Park Ridge; nieces and nephews also survive.

  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his son, John J. Jaloway; a niece, Diane Wells-Stein; and brothers in law, Larry Wells and John Darenski.

  Born and raised in Chicago he attended local grade schools and graduated from Gordan Technical High School.

  He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era.

  He worked through the years as a Lithographer and later worked part time for an Electrical Contractor.

  He was of the Catholic faith.

  Memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice.
