Born November 16, 1984 in Streator, he was the son of Mike Gulo and Carole Gwin Gulo.
He is survived by his parents, Carole Gwin Gulo of Morris and Mike (Cheryl) Gulo of Streator; devoted brother, Thomas Gulo of Morris; a step-brother, Jeff (Jessica) Welch of Homer Glen; nieces, Jailyn, Jossalyn, Jacque, and Jora Welch.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Lindsay, a brother, Erich; maternal grandparents, John and Anita Gwin and paternal grandparents, Max and Evelyn Gulo.
Jonathon was a shining light in the lives of all who knew him, a soul whose smile touched everyone around him.
Jonathon loved The Muppet Movies, every version of the “Toy Story” movies and old school Sesame Street. He spent countless hours playing "Connect Four" and loved anyone that would play the game with him. Jonathon loved being around the water - rivers, lakes, oceans and especially swimming pools where he loved to swim.
One of the highlights of Jonathon’s life was the unforgettable experience granted to him by the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He traveled to the Magic Kingdom with his mom, brothers Erich and Thomas, and his sister-in-law Dolly. The highlights of the trip were riding the “Buzz Lightyear” ride – eight times in a row, driving the cars all by himself at the “Tomorrowland Speedway” and meeting Mickey, Minnie Goofy and Pluto. The cherished memory of Jonathon’s smiles and laughter throughout the trip will forever remain in our hearts.
Jonathon loved his trip to Wisconsin with his dad and stepmom, Cheryl, where he was surrounded by water and got to drive a boat.
Jonathon formed wonderful friendships at Streator Unlimited. The kindness and camaraderie he experienced there brought him much happiness.
Jonathon will be remembered for his pure heart and the smile he had for everyone he met.
Jonathon was a true hero. His donation of organs and tissue through the Gift of Hope Organization will allow him to live on through the lives of so many others, bringing hope and new beginnings.
