Joseph Harasti, 90, of Streator passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at his residence in Streator.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. Deacon Robb Caputo will officiate.
Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home. The rosary will be recited at 8:45 A.M.
Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator. Full military rites will be accorded by the members of the Leslie G. Woods American Legion Post 217 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1492. Pallbearers will be Bob Shearer, Joseph D. Harasti, James Canchola, Joseph Canchola, Lloyd Wissen and John Hoskins.
Born November 17, 1931 in Streator he was the son of John and Elizabeth (Mastiliyak) Harasti.
He is survived by a son, Joseph D. Harasti of Holly Springs, North Carolina; daughters, Kimberly (Ron) Saffell of Lakewood, Colorado and Kelly (Bob) Shearer of Wenona and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Corder, Elizabeth Harasti and Helen Navarrete; brothers, Michael, George and John Harasti.
Born and raised in Streator he attended Streator Grade Schools.
He proudly served in the United States Marines Corp from 1952-1955.
He worked for Streator Brick for 22 years and later ran a Wild Game Farm in Braidwood for 26 years.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
