Josephine “Josie” Turner, 86, of Streator passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at her residence in Streator.

  Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 1st at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

  Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

  Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Streator.

  Born January 9, 1939 in Ottawa she was the daughter of Marrillio and Josephine (Abarcca) Alonzo.  She married Martin Eugene Turner on January 6, 1960 in Ottawa.  He preceded her in death on May 16, 2006.

  She is survived by a son, Don Turner of Streator; daughters, Pam (Darrell) Carbone of Stuart, Florida, Terri Lopez of Earlville and Anita (Dave) Phillips of Streator; grandchildren, Alisha Crockett, Leah Fleming, Lindsay (Rick) Freschi, Jerry (Anne) Fleming, Ashley (Scott, Jr.) Limberg, Lacie (Charles) Eggers, Cristal Lopez, Heather Lopez, Darrell Carbone, Craig Benckendorf and Matthew Lopez; great grandchildren; Alexis, Chase and Zoey Crockett; Lylah and Lillian Koller; Tripp Limberg; Charlet and Connor Eggers; Natalie and Remington Benckendorf; Heavyn and Josh Cameron; Maddie Vissering; Khloey, Silas and Ramiyah Wheeler; Jozie Scarborough; Hannah and Cohen Freschi; sisters, Lana Alonzo of Spring Valley, Rita (Mort) Cunningham of Streator, Linda Fetschen of Ottawa and Lupe (Larry) Harms of Ottawa; a brother, Daniel Alonzo of Diamond.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Cubert, Joseph, Albert, and Louie Alonzo; and sisters, Mary Vasquez and Virginia Alonzo.

  Born and raised in Ottawa she attended Ottawa schools and graduated from Ottawa High School.

  She worked through the years for Northlawn Junior High School in the Cafeteria from where she retired in 1999.  She also worked at the Knights of Columbus as a cook through the years.

  She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

  She has lived in Streator since 1980 having lived in Ottawa and Honolulu, Hawaii prior.
