Cremation rites will be accorded following the services and private family burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery at a later date.

Born June 17, 1982 in Streator he was the son of John Halko and Jill Ozretich.

Josh is survived by his grandmother, Marilyn Sugg-Halko; his best friend and father, John Halko (Lynn Halko); his mother, Jill Halko-Cole (Wesley Salter); his sister JoMarie Halko (Megan Halko); stepsister Jennifer Gilland (Doug Gilland); stepbrothers Chad Adams and Brian Adams (Jennifer Adams). Josh was also loved and adored by all of his nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joe and Joy Ozretich; his paternal grandfather, Richard Halko; and a cousin, Matthew Halko.

Born in Streator Josh lived in Grand Ridge and Waterford, Wisconsin when he was younger.  He returned to Streator and attended Centennial and Northlawn Junior High.  He attended Streator High School until his sophomore year.  He then moved to Festus, Missouri and graduated from Festus High School.

He worked for Ardagh Glass Company for the last 21 years in Burlington, Wisconsin, Dalton, Illinois and the last six years in Winchester, Indiana.

He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Winchester, Indiana.

Josh was a very avid hunter and fisherman.  He was a water fowler and loved hunting pheasants, ducks, turkeys, deer and geese.  He fished in many different states and even fished the ocean.  He was on a hunting trip in Missouri when he passed away peacefully in his sleep.  He will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends.  Josh’s last text message to his family was a video of dear crossing in front of him and his quote was “this is what heaven looks like, look at all of these deer”.
