Karl Ickert, 89, of Streator passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care, Streator.
Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Streator. The Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Born June 24, 1932 in Lusk, Ukraine he was the son of Leopold and Marie (Schulz) Ickert. He married Rita Puetz in 1984. She preceded him in death on January 18, 2017.
He is survived by a sister, Erna Harms of Carlock; nieces and nephews, Rebecca (Robert) Sauers of Streator, Robert (Kim) Harms of Streator, Lolita (Brad) Wiggins of Carlock, Kevin (Brenda) Harms of Towanda, and Naomi (Bob) Comstock of Pekin; great nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a sister, Martha Harms; a brother, Richard Ickert and a brother in infancy.
Karl was born in the Ukraine and came to the United States in 1952.
He worked through the years for Owens Illinois Glass Company until his retirement.
He was a long time active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Streator.
