Katherine F. Eden

  Katherine F. Eden, 98, of Streator passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022 at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care in Streator.

  Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Streator.  Rev. Bill Callister will officiate.

  Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Streator.

  Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Streator. 

  Born September 18, 1924 in Streator she was the daughter of Joseph and Viola (Foster) Benner.  She married Wilbur P. Eden on September 22, 1948 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Streator.  He preceded her in death on December 26, 2011.

  She is survived by a niece, Alberta East of Streator; nephews, William Grimm of Streator, David (Kate) Gretencord of Grand Ridge, Curt Grettencord of Grand Ridge, Harry Benner of Morris and Harold (Lynn) Theil Pontiac; many great nieces and nephews also survive.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Harold Benner and sisters, Arlene Grimm and Roberta Grettencord.

  Born and raised in Streator she attended Streator schools and graduated from Streator High School.

  She was a life member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. 

  She worked through the years for Booker’s Restaurant as a waitress, Paris Garter Factory and Owens Illinois Glass Company.

  Memorials may be directed to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or the charity of the donor’s choice.
