Katherine M. Sokol

  Katherine M. Sokol, 68, of Streator passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022 at O.S.F. Center for Health – Streator.

  Interment services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the St. Stephen’s Cemetery Chapel.

  Burial will follow in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator.

  Born July 26, 1953 in Streator she was the daughter of Edward and Helen (Hauger) Sokol.

  She is survived by a brother, Mike (Rhonda) Sokol of Streator; and a nephew, Shane (Erin) Sokol of Nashville.

  She was preceded in death by her parents.

  Born and raised in Streator she attended St. Stephen’s Grade School and graduated from Streator High School in the class of 1971.  She later studied at Illinois Valley Community College to become a Registered Nurse.

  She worked as a Registered Nurse for Morris Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Joliet through the years.

  She moved back to Streator in 2010 to help care for her parents.

  She loved reading, history, flower gardening, especially roses and collecting antique glass.
