Kathleen L. Jonen

  Kathleen L. Jonen, 96, of Streator passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022 at a private care home in Streator.

  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, September 14^th at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. 

  Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Wednesday, September 14^th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

  Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery, Streator.

  Born May 17, 1926 in Blackstone she was the daughter of Sydney and Mabel (Corrigan) Trainor.  She married Richard J. Jonen on October 27, 1951 at St. Anthony Church, Streator.  He preceded her in death in 1982.

  She is survived by daughters, Linda Jonen of Streator and Diane (Dan) Ring of Walnut Creek, California; a son, David Jonen of Streator; grandchildren, Adam (Claire) Ring of Dublin, California and Ryan Soberri of Wenona; great granddaughter, Juliette Ring; a brother, Emmett Trainor of Pontiac; a son in law, Joe Soberri; and a sister in law, Marjorie Trainor of Virginia.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Patricia Soberri; and brothers, Richard, Joe, Vince, Larry, Frank, Phillip and Bill Trainor.

  She grew up in the Blackstone area and graduated from Cornell High School.

  She worked through the years for St. Mary’s Hospital and Streator National Bank.

  She was a member of the former St. Anthony Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Parish.  She also belonged to the Altar and Rosary Society of her church, the K of C, V.F.W., American Legion and Eagles Auxiliaries. 

  Kathleen was very active with her Parish through the years and enjoyed volunteering for various activities including the turkey dinner.  She loved playing Euchre with friends and going dancing with her husband.

  Memorials may be directed to Streator Unlimited or St. Michael the Archangel Church.
