Kathryn K. “Katie” Barr, 79, of Streator, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022 at O. S. F. St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Solon-Telford Funeral Home in Streator. Reverend John Gutz and Reverend Jonathan Huehn will officiate.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Solon-Telford Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Streator. Pallbearers will be Bob Barr, Nolan Barr, Ted Broedlow, Brad Curtis, Dick Kling and John Kling.
Born October, 27 1942 in Galesburg, Illinois, she was the daughter of Clarence and Flossie (Carroll) Kling. She married Robert “Bob” Barr on May 15, 1965 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Streator. He preceded her in death on February 7, 2021.
She is survived by her son Robert “Bob” (Rene) Barr of Streator, her daughter, Rebecca “Becky” (Ted) Broedlow of Streator; grandchildren, Megan (Brad) Curtis of Morton, Alexis “Lexi” Broedlow of Chicago, Sophia Broedlow of Streator, Nolan Barr of Streator and Alexa Barr of Streator; brothers: David Kling of Tamaroa, Michael (Judy) Kling of Astoria and Doug (Carla) Kling of Canton.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Clarence and Flossie Kling; brothers, Charles “Whimp” , James “Cork” Floyd, John, Danny, Gary, Jerry, Deane; sisters Elsie “Sis”, Mary Lee and Donna “Susie”.
Katie was a caregiver for others her whole life. A woman of strong faith, she was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Streator and Christ Lutheran Church in Normal. She loved to spend time with her family and enjoyed visiting with her friends. She was an avid Cubs fan and was always hopeful, that this year could be the year for a World Series win. She will be deeply missed by all.
