Kelvin R. Missel

  Kelvin R. Missel, 65, of Streator passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Parker Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Streator.

  Cremation rites will be accorded.  There will be no funeral services.  The Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

  Born February 11, 1956 in Streator he was the son of Allen and Elizabeth (Mahnke) Missel.

  He is survived by a daughter, Malinda Missel of Marseilles; a son, William “Billy” (Mandi) Missel of Streator; grandchildren, Alayna and Destiny Missel and Blaize and Ace Missel;; brothers, Allen (Lori) Missel of Belton, Missouri and Kerry (Kathy) Missel of Lawrenceville, Georgia; a sister, Lynn (Lloyd) Hillyer of Streator; his ex-wife, Nida (Chris) Sloan of Woodridge; several nieces and nephews and his cat, Sylvester.

  He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Darius Missel; a nephew, Erich Missel and his beloved cat, Shadow.

  Born and raised in Streator he attended local schools and Streator High School.

  He served in the United States Navy.

  He worked several years at Donnelly’s in Dwight.

  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan.  He will be dearly missed by his loving family.
