Kenneth E. Brust, 75, of Streator passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025 at his residence.
Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. Sunday, December 7th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Ransom.
Born March 29, 1950 in Streator he was the son of Donald and Dorothy (McCambridge) Brust.
He is survived by a special friend and partner for the last 16 years, Carol Bykowski of Streator; a daughter, Shannon (Lee) Hedman of Bloomington; a son, Robert Brust of Decatur; 4 grandchildren; sisters, Mary Lynn (Mick) Ahearn, of Morris, Lisa (Gary) Larsen of Ransom and Donnie Ellen Wielgopolan of Ransom; a brother, Dave Brust of Ransom; a sister-in-law, Mary Jo Brust of Spring Valley; many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Steve and Rick Brust; a brother-in-law, Anthony Wielgopolan; a nephew, Matt Brust and a niece, Kristi Deutscher.
Raised in Ransom he attended Ransom Grade School and graduated from Ransom High School in the class of 1968.
He worked for M&M Grain in his early years and the rest of his career was spent as a Truck Driver until his retirement.
Ken enjoyed watching Westerns, reading and wood working through the years. He was an avid Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears fan. A great story teller Ken never met a stranger. He had a big heart and would help anyone he could. He will be missed by his loving family.
Memorials may be directed to charity of the donor’s choice.
