Kenneth E. Capko, 76, of Streator, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at O.S.F. Center for Health – Streator.

  Private family funeral services will be held.  Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery.  The Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

  Ken was born on September 21, 1948, in Streator to John and Irene (Pfalzgraf) Capko. He married Nancy Perk on March 11, 1972 in Chicago.

  He is survived by his wife, Nancy Capko of Streator; a daughter, Sarah (Jeremy) Goeden of Killingworth, Connecticut; a son, Eric (Julie) Capko of Kingsville, Maryland; grandchildren, Emmerson, Alex and Jocelyn Goeden; Colin and Beau Capko.

  He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Irene.

  Born and raised in Streator, he attended St. Stephen’s Grade School and graduated from Streator High School in the class of 1966.

  He worked through the years for RR Donnelley in Dwight as a Pressman until his retirement.

  He was a member of the former St. Stephen’s Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church.  He was also a member of the Msgr. George A. Dzuryo Knights of Columbus Council #790 and the Sandy Ford Sportsman’s Club.

  Ken was a lifelong sports enthusiast who enjoyed watching just about any televised sporting event, but mostly loved football, NASCAR and IndyCar Racing. A die-hard Chicago Bears fan, Ken never missed watching a game; even sneaking a Bears vs. Packers game on his phone during his son’s wedding. Despite decades of heartbreak from the Bears, questionable coaching decisions, and more losses than wins, he remained loyal and hopeful. Most nights, you could find Ken out at the bar for a drink, keeping up with friends. He will be missed by all.
