Born March 17, 1990 in Pontiac, she was the daughter of Donnie Ellen (Brust) Gilligan and Mark Deutscher.

She is survived by her mother, Donnie Ellen (Bob)Wielgopolan-Gilligan of Ransom; her father, Mark (Tonia) Deutscher of Saunemin; a sister, Nicole (Brandon) Nyman of Princeton; her nieces and nephews, Sawyer, Foster, Maren and Vivian Nyman; a brother, Brandon Schneider of Saunemin and nephews, Camedyn and Kaysen Schneider; step-sisters, Breanne (Doug) Suarez of Peru, Natalie Gilligan of Peru and Sarah Gilligan of Utica; her paternal grandmother, Linda Deutscher of Dwight; and grandparents, Barb and Steve Schneider of Saunemin, grandmother, Sandy Schneider of Dwight,  her very special Black Labs, Bailey and Waylon; several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.

She was preceded in death by her step-father, Anthony “Wiggy” Wielgopolan; maternal grandparents, Donald and Dorothy Brust and paternal grandfather, Robert Deutscher, uncles, Richard and Steve Brust and her cousin, Matt Brust.

Kristi was raised in Ransom and attended Ransom Grade School and graduated from Streator High School.  She also graduated from Midwest Cosmetology College in Bloomington.  After cosmetology school she worked for Manic Trends in Ottawa for 10 years and has developed a very loyal clientele whom she loved and appreciated dearly, and loved her co-workers through the years.

Kristi loved her family and especially spoiling her nieces and nephews, so much so that there was no expense spared when she bought things, although she we would never spend money on herself.  She loved to go boating with her uncle Dave and hanging with her friends.  She was an avid Chicago sports fan, loving her Cubbies and Bears.  She also adored her two black labs, Bailey and Waylon.

Kristi had the biggest heart, the most infectious laugh and the brightest smile.  When she loved, she loved hard and if you were someone she cared about, you were pretty damn lucky.  She had this incredible ability to make you laugh no matter what the situation was and genuinely had a good time.  She is leaving a big hole in a lot of hearts.

Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
