Letha Joann Gordon

Letha Joann Gordon, 89, of Streator passed away Thursday, February 20, 2020 at O.S.F. St. James Medical Center in Pontiac.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Streator. Rev. Bill Callister will officiate.

Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Monday at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Streator.

Burial will be in Rowe Cemetery in Rowe, Illinois. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Born August 17, 1930 in Rowe she was the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Ryning) Johnson. She married Donald F. Gordon, Sr. on March 27, 1948. He preceded her in death on May 11, 2007.

She is survived by a daughter, Karen (Don) Renner of Streator; sons, Donald F. Gordon Jr., of Lexington and Randal S. Gordon of Streator; grandchildren, Amy Renner of Streator, Andrew (Liz) Renner of Tampa, Florida, Ashley Renner of Streator, Amanda (Ben) Swinehart of McCarthy, Alaska, Justin Kmetz of Livermore, California, Kjirsten (Chris) Morrison of Indianapolis, Indiana, Sara (Ryan) Dunham of Tucson, Arizona, Randall Gordon Jr., of Phoenix, Arizona, Tabitha Gordon of Streator and Curtis Gordon of Streator; and 9 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Roberta Gyorfi; a sister, Ruth Johnson; brothers, George and Eyler Johnson; and a daughter in law, Tammy Gordon.

Letha attended a one room school house near Cornell and also Pontiac High School.

She worked for the Harvest Bakery, Paris Garter Factory and St. Mary’s Hospital as a Surgery Tech from where she retired.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and also belonged to the Owls Group.

Memorials may be directed to the St. Paul’s Church Building Fund or the Heritage Health Activity Fund.
