Lloyd Hillyer, 72, of Streator passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at his residence in Streator.

  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

  A Celebration of Life will occur at a later date.

  Lloyd was born in Yuba City, California on April 24, 1952 to Alvin and Gertrude (Taylor) Hillyer.  He married Lynn (Missel) Hillyer on July 26, 1971 in Ottawa.                                              

  He is survived by his wife; sons, Anthony L. Hillyer of Streator, Mark E. Hillyer of Streator; grandson, Robert (Courtney) Hillyer of Streator; great granddaughters, Aubreyana, Ryleigh and Londyn.

  He was preceded in death by his parents.

  Lloyd had eight brothers and sisters.  He served in the United States Army from 1972-1974.  He worked as a crew leader at Vactor Manufacturing for many years until his retirement in 2019.

  As a lifelong resident of Streator, he enjoyed fishing, NASCAR racing and was a huge fan of the Chicago Cubs.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his great granddaughters.  They kept him amused and entertained even on his worst days.  They, as well as his family, were the love of his life. He loved his family beyond measure.

  Lloyd will be greatly missed by his friends and family. They do find comfort and solace knowing that his pain and suffering has ended and that he is now in a better place.
