Lois J. Kaschke, 90, of Streator passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at the ARC of Streator.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at St. Michael the Archangel Church in Streator. Msgr. Philip Halfacre will officiate.
Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M – 11:00 A.M Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Solon-Telford Funeral Home in Streator.
Burial will be in Long Point Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevin Brodersen, Keith Brodersen, Josh Woodward, Caleb Osborn, Douglass Battershell and Alex Arroyo.
Born November 15, 1934, she was the daughter of Alva and Emma Mary (Hall) Battershell. She married Arnold Brodersen and later married Ken Kaschke.
She is survived by sons, Kevin Brodersen of Streator, Kenneth (Millicent) Brodersen of Canton, Ohio, Keith (Crystal) Brodersen of Wendell, North Carolina; a daughter, Karen of Cleveland Ohio; several grandchildren and a brother, James “Dick” Battershell of Streator.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Francis Battershell, Robert Battershell and a sister, Mary Hay.
Born in Boulder, Montana, she moved to Streator as a teenager. She graduated from Streator High School in 1953.
Lois was a farmer’s wife and later worked as a secretary. She was a member of Right to Life and the St. Michael’s Alter and Rosary Society.
She was a member of the former St. Anthony’s Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church.
Lois enjoyed playing card games and dancing. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
