Lorraine M. Giacinto - Latino, 98, of Streator passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care, Streator.
A private family funeral mass will be held Saturday, March 6th following with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Luke and Jim Cherveny and Chuck Giacinto, David Dick, Mike Hagerty and D.J. Dick.
The Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Born December 9, 1922 in Lockport, Illinois she was the daughter of David and Marge (Vota) Pesavento. She married Charles Giacinto on August 21, 1938. He preceded her in death on January 21, 2005. She later married Russell Latino on December 9, 2005. He preceded her in death on September 28, 2018.
She is survived by a daughter, Chrislette (James) Cherveny of Streator; a daughter in law, Sharon Giacinto of Streator; grandchildren, Charles “Chuck” (Lynette) Giacinto of Streator, Jennifer (David) Dick of Palatine, Luke (Ellen) Cherveny of East Grand Rapids, Michigan, James (Alyssa) Cherveny of LaSalle and Susan (Mike) Hagerty of Oglesby; great grandchildren, Alexa, Matthew and Dani Giacinto; Rhiann, D.J.and Darrin Dick; Vivian, Adam, William and Thomas Cherveny; Chloe, Addison and Elle Cherveny; Maelyn and Michael Hagerty.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a son, Charles S. Giacinto; and her step-father, Chris Nielsen.
Lorraine attended Gardner South Wilmington Grade School and Dwight High School. She lived most of her lifetime in the Streator area and was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church (currently St. Michael the Archangel Church). Lorraine was very active in the Streatorland community. Over the years, she enjoyed playing Bridge, dancing, golfing, travelling, socializing in her husband’s barber shop, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, supporting Streator High School, contributing to Engle Lane, and was a member of the Streator Country Club, Streator Elks Club and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.
