Louise T. Keenan, 98, of Streator passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at her residence in Streator.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 1st at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator.
Visitation will be from 9-10:30 A.M. Saturday, July 1st at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Streator.
Born February 12, 1925 in Streator she was the daughter of William and Margaret (Carey) Trainor. She married Bernard Keenan on August 30, 1952. He preceded her in death in 1960.
She is survived by daughters, Mary (Brad) Keenan-Martin of Naperville and Anne (Thomas) Carr of Streator; sons, Bernard (Marisa) Keenan of Ft. Myers, Florida and James (Cathie) Keenan of North Carolina; grandchildren, Danielle Martin of Chicago, Robert Martin of Naperville; Michael Keenan of Ireland; Joshua Carr of Streator and Catherine (Jesse) Guerrero of Ottawa; several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, William Keenan; sisters, Betty Smithwick and Peggy Myers; and brothers, Tom and Robert Trainor; sister-in-law Margaret Trainor.
Louise was raised in the Blackstone area and attended Blackstone High School. She attended St. Bernard’s College in Chicago. She later earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Loyola University.
She worked through the years for Dr. Moose and Dr. Thomas’ office in Streator.
She was a long time member of the former St. Anthony Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. She was also a former member of the Altar and Rosary Society of her church. She served as a Eucharistic Minister through the years. She was a very active member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
