Marcella M. Handzo

  Marcella M. Handzo, 91, of Streator passed away Sunday, June 11, 2023 at the Pavilion of Ottawa.

  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 17th at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator.  Msgr. Philip Halfacre will officiate.

  Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.  Private family burial will take place at a later date.

  Visitation will be private.  The Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

  Born February 8, 1932 in Streator she was the daughter of John and Emma (Seroka) Lesak.  She married Richard J. Handzo on March 5, 1957 at Immaculate Conception Church, Streator.

  She is survived by her husband, Richard Handzo of Streator; a daughter, Cynthia (Robert) Owen of Ellsworth; sons, Anthony (Connie) Handzo of Roseville and Gregory Handzo of Streator; grandchildren, Richard (Lindsey) Handzo, Aaron Handzo, Angela (Nathan) Trimble and Michael (Natasha) Handzo; 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Dolores (Jim) Hefler of Streator, Elsie Trainor of Streator, Theresa Hogan of Odell and Rita Pshak of Tonica; a brother, Eugene Lesak of Toledo, Ohio; many nieces and nephews also survive.

  She was preceded in death by parents.

  Born and raised in Streator she attended local grade schools and Streator High School.

  She was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church.

  Marcella loved reading, collecting angels and going to garage sales.  She will be dearly missed by her loving family.

  Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
