Marcella F. Korstick

Marcella F. “Marcie” Korstick, 88, of Streator passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at her residence in Streator.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Church.

Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be, Richard Conner, Chad Korstick, Matthew Korstick, Logan Korstick, Tim Gump and Greg Risley.

The Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Born April 6, 1932 in Streator she was the daughter of John and Margaret (Elias) Farkas. She married Daniel P. Korstick on May 9, 1953 at St. Stephen’s Church, Streator. He preceded her in death on July 1, 2017.

She is survived by a daughter, Kathy (Phil) Conner of Streator; a son, Daniel (Donna) Korstick of Arizona; grandchildren, Stacy (Joe) Grunnet of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Richard (Stacey) Conner of St. Charles, Chad Korstick of Rock Falls, Matthew (Christa) Korstick of El Paso, Logan Korstick of Sterling and Madison Korstick of Sterling; 7 great grandchildren; a sister, Joan O’Donnell; nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters, Dolores Bresney and Dorothy Farkas; and brothers, John and Jerome Farkas.

Born and raised in Streator she attended St. Stephen’s Grade School and Streator High School.

She worked through the years for Union National Bank, GC Murphy’s and Ben Franklin.

She was a member of the former St. Stephen’s Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. She was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of her church.

Marcie loved shopping and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She loved her Chicago Cubbies and especially enjoyed watching them win the World Series. She enjoyed flower gardening and big family gatherings where she would spend days preparing all the food. She also enjoyed her weekly lunches with her friends. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends.
