Marcia E. Wahl, 88, of Streator passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. Monday, September 9th at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator.
Visitation will be from 2-5 P.M. Sunday, September 8th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. The rosary will be recited at 4:45 P.M.
Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be, Chad Wahl, Alex Wahl, Willy Hert, Jim Riordan, Henry Lynch and Mike Malley. Honorary pallbearers will be, John Bunn and Rick Bunn.
Born January 27, 1936 in Streator she was the daughter of Frank and Mayme (Nagle) Gordon. She married Robert J. Wahl on April 25, 1959 at St. Anthony Church in Streator. He preceded her in death on September 14, 2005.
She is survived by a son, Ron (Dena Redd) Wahl of Streator; a daughter, Janet (Mike) Malley of Marseilles; grandchildren, Chad (Jordie) Wahl, Alex Wahl and Madison Malley all of Streator; 3 great grandchildren and 1 on the way; a favorite niece, Debbie Hert and special friends, Julie Lotshaw, Joy Broadus-Jaeger and her Bingo and Card player friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and brothers, Robert and Donald Gordon; sisters in law, Joann and Loretta Gordon; and a daughter in law, Marla Wahl.
Born and raised in the Streator and Blackstone areas she graduated from Streator High School in the class of 1953.
She was a member of the former St. Stephen’s Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church.
She worked in the office at Streator High School for 33 years until her retirement in 1996. She was a professional Bingo and Card player. She enjoyed going places and visiting with friends and family any chance she could. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother aunt and friend and will be dearly missed.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
