Marian K. Carpenter

  Marian K. Carpenter, 94, of Streator passed away Sunday, February 19, 2023 at O.S.F St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa.

  Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 24th at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Streator.  Rev. John Gutz will officiate.

  Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M until the time of the services Friday, February 24th at the church.

  Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Streator.  Cremation rites have been accorded.

  Born March 4, 1928 in Streator she was the daughter of Andrew and Mary (Cipalo) Kochis.  She married Robert Carpenter on July 2, 1949 at Old #3 Trinity Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on June 6, 1999.

  She is survived by a brother, John (Betty) Kochis of Streator; nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Elmer, Richard and Arthur Kochis; and sisters, Ann Stinar, Norma Marx and Esther Kelley.

  Born and raised in Streator she attended Streator Grade Schools and graduated from Streator High School in the class of 1946.

  She lived in Peoria for a few years and then moved to Fairview Park, Ohio where she lived for over 50 years before returning to Streator in 2019.

  She worked through the years as a legal secretary for an insurance company in Cleveland, Ohio.

  She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Fairview Park for many years.  She was a very active volunteer for her church.  She was also a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
