Marilyn Niehaus Obituary

 

  Marilyn J. Niehaus, 80, of Streator passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, March 29, 2024 at the Arc of Streator.

  Funeral Services will be at 6:30 P.M. on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Solon-Telford Funeral Home in Streator. Pastor Dennis Thorne will officiate.

  Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 6:30 P.M. on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Solon-Telford Funeral Home in Streator. 

   Cremation rites will be accorded.  A private burial at Riverview Cemetery will be held at a later date.

  Born September 2, 1943 in Streator, she was the twin daughter of Earl and Kathryn (Outram) Leese.  She married John Niehaus on June 6, 1969.

  She is survived by her husband, John Niehaus of Streator; a daughter, Mary K. (Bruce) Dominic of Streator; a son, Matthew J. (Shelly) Niehaus of Colmar, IL; grandchildren, Michael (Myria) Welch, Alycia Welch, Nathan Welch, John Paul Niehaus and Hunter Niehaus; great grandchildren, Amelia and Josie Welch; sisters, Linda Sawyer of Streator, Christine Leese of Bloomington, Beth (Richard) Puckett of Streator, Dawn Leese of Streator and a sister-in-law, Judy Leese of Ottawa.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Carolyn Leese; a brother, Donald Leese and a great grand-daughter, Emelynn Welch.

  Born and raised in Streator, she attended local grade schools and graduated from Streator High School, class of 1961.

  Over the years, Marilyn worked as an L.P.N. at St. Mary’s Hospital, Heritage Manor, Camelot Terrace  and Beulahland Christian Home in Flanagan.

  Marilyn is a member of the Streator Bowling Hall of Fame and served as the President of the Eagles Women’s Auxiliary.

  She enjoyed crafting and sewing and loved to spoil her dog, Sadie.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

  Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
