Marilyn A. Scott

  Marilyn A. Scott, 84, of Streator passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023 in Streator at her daughter’s home.

  Funeral services will be at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 3rd at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. 

  Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. Wednesday, May 3rd at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

  Private burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Streator.  Cremation rites have been accorded.

  Born March 26, 1939 in Odell she was the daughter of William and Clara (Wesselhoff) Kennedy.

  Marilyn grew up in Odell where she attended grade school and high school.  She worked at most of the local restaurants in Streator including the Elks, Fireside, The Landmark, Country Cupboard and Grumps, as a cook and waitress.  She also took care of several elderly people after she retired.

  Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mary (Elmer) Shepherd of Odell and Ruth (Alvin) Masching of Pontiac (formerly of Emmington); a brother in law, Donald Scott of Dwight; grandsons, David Scott and Dalton Mesarchik; a granddaughter, Heather Uhren; sons, Arthur, George and Walter Scott; son in law, Joseph Uhren and a dear friend, JoAnn Tyler.

  She is survived by two daughters, Mary K. (Richard) Bay of Streator and Kristine Uhren of Streator; a sister, Doris Legner of Pontiac; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews also survive.

  Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren, Nicholas Scott, Samantha Bay, Stephen, Klarissa and Joey Uhren; Erika Scott, Eric Gallup and Rebecca Brown.
